Style options and feedback

Monday April 4, 2005 [last update ]

Configure this site to suit your needs and leave any feedback with regard this site's accessibility, etc.

Hopefully I will get the time to add some more style options in the not too distant future.

Bus full of hippies edition
The current default theme for this site. Like every self-respecting cyber hippy this layout comes round my house, eats all my bandwidth, whines about how wrong ownership is and then buggers off without paying. Help me defeat this menace and reduce the running costs of this site, enjoy the flowers but, please switch to the simple version below if you plan to visit regularly.
Simple
Similar layout to the bus full of hippies edition but with all the heavy graphics removed. If you are on dial-up, this is the one for you. If you are a regular, please help me out here!

Bugs and general feedback

You are most welcome to leave any thoughts, ideas or concerns about this website using the feedback link at the end of the page. It is always useful, and interesting, to know what browser, operating system and connection speed you are using, so please take two minutes to include this information.

A polite note for dedicated comment trolls

Please keep in mind that I like my feedback constructive, though don't feel you have to sugar coat it. Comments made anonymously will be deleted. Comments along the lines of I fink your site sucks, delete it now! will also be deleted and in addition you will be banned. Thank you come again! :)

See you have insomnia again like me!

I will use the simple layout 99% of the time now, just so you can buy some penny sweets.

How about a ‘even simpler’ stylesheet for the drunk (or visually impaired).

    Anyway, good night!

Recently I have been having slow load times with the flower design. I assume that is what you are trying to work on, so I too will use the simpler layout but I know I am gonna suffer from lack of “flower power”.

I am using Mozilla Firefox 1.0.2 on WinXP and I have broadband.

Keep up the good work John.

    Thank fuck for that!

I’m a hay fever sufferer so good riddance to the flowers.

Got it switched. I also experience downtimes when flowers are on john, but surely less is more… keep bloggin’. :)

I’ve already been helping out by mostly reading via RSS, except when I wanted to scan the comments.
Even still, I’m always one to chip in, so away go the flowers.

Is there an option to just have the flowers and no content? that would be great :P

Love everything about this site its the bees bollocks, the dogs knees.

What’s the deal with bandwidth again? Once a browser has download your background image and style sheet once those things shouldn’t get hit again if all your headers are setup right. What stylesheet (and images) frequent visitors use should not significantly affect your bandwidth.

    Beautifull work.

How did you come up with the “more love than a bus full of hippies” line? It’s genious!

The bus-full-of-hippies edition gives me a lift everytime it passes by, but now that I’ve read your bandwidth-consideration plea, I’ve got the guilts; it’s like being afraid of using too much hot water when you’re visiting a pal who’s job seeking. Nevertheless, I promise to peek only once a week.

Now, don’t get mad (read the following with the knowledge that I’m an English teacher), but whenever I come across a misspelling – make that, typo – I have the overwhelming urge to correct it. Got me to thinking about the future when we’ll be able to “load” sites into our own Tiddlywiki type thing, make all the changes that irk us – or just gaze longingly and guilt-free at bandwidth hogs – without touching your originals.

Your site sucks! —Who would say that?

I am most impressed with your design skills. I’m like the programmer aspires to be a designer. Much like Pinocchio wanted to be a real boy. The more I learn CSS the more sites I find that impress the hell out of me.

On first glance I thought you used a bit to much of the screen but you actually fit it into 800×600 after all. Very nice!

Turn of the flowers..? How could I? I’m overwhelmed by their beauty – this truly is an absolute triumph in web design. I don’t know how I got here but I’ll definitely be coming back for more!
