I wouldn’t make the mistake of calling this a closing down of my blog because I have been there, seen that, got the t-shirt and besides only a hairy, fat, Welshman would be idiotic enough to “throw away” such a large amount of traffic… oh! wait…
Suffice to say I am currently not that interested in blogging. I have had a few personal posts lined up that never got published. I have some thoughts about the industry I work in that I can’t actually be bothered to write down. The enthusiasm has gone and not through lack of trying.
I think, perhaps, I am looking for a new direction. The f-bomb got very boring all of a sudden. I have tried writing about my job but with so many people already doing such a great and thorough job of writing about the things I do I can’t get motivated to do that. Hell, even the promise of seeing my name in print can’t get me motivated enough to really want to do it.
I do like the fact that this site seems to have a constant stream of traffic no matter what I say or do. I do like the fact that my Feedburner stats tell me that around 1,500 people remain subscribed to this blog (shit that’s a lot of abandoned Bloglines accounts ;)) and so I would like to at least keep the “pimping” on the go. In fact if I am honest there is a little bit of a “giving a nice Christmas present” buzz about sharing this traffic that insists on passing through with people who have some good stuff going on. So if you do have something VERY intersting you want pimped let me know… advertisers don’t bother.
So I am not saying goodbye, nor am I saying that this is a period of rest, I am just saying that I have lost the urge to write for the moment and I am not even going to try for a while.
Of course anyone who has been here for a while will know that by tomorrow morning I will have written three posts just for that day and will have a sudden surge of bollocks just waiting to be typed out.
