A food review
Friday July 28, 2006
I took my better half out for a meal tonight because next week I am going to America for a month.
I visited a restaurant/hotel based on rumours that the food was good.
I spent some money on the warm wine, I spent some money on the warm Champagne. I spent some money on the food. And let’s just be clear. I spent many years in London’s finest learning how to be a food snob.
In the end I thought the best way to deal with this was to spend the same amount of time on this review as the establishment spent on my night out:
So, to the King’s Arms in Stow-on-the-Wold:
- Champagne @ £10 for two glasses: VERY AVERAGE.
- Starters: FUCKING SHIT, ROTTEN LETTUCE.
- Main Course: AVERAGE AT BEST, BORING, TASTELESS.
- Service: FRIENDLY BUT NOT INTERESTED.
Total cost of 2 course meal with wine, no coffee, no dessert? £100 plus tips.
SHITE!
UPDATE: The Missus just reminded me we had pudding, so it was a three course meal in fact…. which kinda says a lot about that!
