Welcome to Fever Club

Friday June 9, 2006

Streaming, itchy red eyes? Runny, itchy nose? Continious sneazing? Mildly sore yet itchy throat forcing you to consume large chunks of cold, dry toast in the hope of a moment itch relief as it goes slowly down the back of your throat? Drowsiness from, as yet, inneffective allergy pills? Welcome to Fever Club. The first rule of Fever Club, you don’t talk about Fever Club BECAUSE YOU’RE TOO FUCKING BUSY SNEEZING!

    I’m already in.

Fever Club was the beginning, now it’s moved out of the basement, it’s called Project May-[sneeze]-hem.

Dude, I feel your pain. I use Opticrom (now Optrex Allergy) for itchy eyes, with a lot of success. As for the rest, I’ve spent year upon year trying to find medication that does anything at all and the only thing that I’ve had any success with is Zirtek.

Incidentally the active ingredient in Opticrom, sodium chromoglycate, is also available in nasal spray form (I tried it on prescription) which was effective but it fucked up my nose so I preferred to suffer.

Hah! I’m also a part of that club – accompanied by one bastard of a toothache. I’m glad to hear I’m not the only one swallowing dry toast.

Your choice of theme for this site seems slightly odd now…..

I am writing this to the tune of rap sneezing that is the soundtrack to our house. You certainly know it’s summer when you can’t see for streaming eyes, you are itchy inside and out and you do the sneezing dance. Maybe we should get fever club badges or something – we’ve got the secret handshake sneezing

I thought I had escaped it this year, but I’ve just returned from a walk over The Orme, and I am suffering from all the above mentioned ailments. It’s like small Ninja’s with tiny red hot pokers are stabbing my eyes.

    Yep – I’m in.
Just kicked in this last week.
Colds in winter, hay-fever in summer.
    Bollocks isn’t it.

The only thing that ever worked for me was Triludan, but they had to take that off the market because it stopped peoples hearts beating or something.

The stop gap measure for now is living in a Northern City, no fields of grass seed here…
