A new series

Monday March 28, 2005

With all this traffic whooshing through my site at the moment, pausing casually to look at the pretty flowers and then zooming off never to be seen again, I thought I'd better do something about the content. With the sudden, horrifying realisation that I have actually got very little to say, there was nothing else to do but hijack the talents of others.

So, starting in the next few days, and continuing as long as I can persuade people to do it, begins "Seven and a half questions for [insert name]".

Thinking about it, I may have stolen the idea from The Web Standards Group. However, they have thousands of readers, I have three, they ask ten sensible questions, I've asked seven and a half dumb ones. So let's call it a node of inspiration and hear no more of it!

Who will be first? Well it seemed only right that it should be a Brit.

    You didn’t ask for suggestions, but who cares? I would like to see you interview
    * Kevin Potts
    * David Hellsing
    * Adam Howell

    Why? Because those could be interesting interviews, I guess.

    Sounds cool, but what the fuck did you do with your watering can? Cause the flowers are nowhere to be seen… :(

    Beautiful flowers all over the page, was it a temporary bug?
    (Why does the preview tell me, I had written my post 1 hour ago? And of course, it’s not the preview alone…)

    Ah right. I was getting worried you were going to do another live redesign ; ).

    How about someone less famous just because I think we already know alot about more popular people.

    Just a thought.

    Schultzy, because we’re not interesting ;p

    John, what’s wrong with family besides the fact that they’re unlikely to be involved in web standards.

    Also, I bet you’re making a modem-safe version ;)

    I wasnt thinking of me. Nah more like leaders of good sites (unlike me lol)

    Family would be cool.
    Any way Rob you are famous.
    I just come here to try to be.

    Why not indeed interview the people behind well known sites.

    Not the ones who have their own well read blog (think Dave of the Zen Garden), but other folk…

    ...can’t think up who exactly…

    ...will come up with actual names later.

    The maker of jamie olivers site.
    It aint too bad and its a big named site.

    Sites like that..

    They dont have to be 100% standards complient. Just on the way there.

    Five, actually.

    “With the sudden, horrifying realisation that I have actually got very little to say…”
    The point is, you have a very entertaining way of saying very little. And there’s the flowers, of course. =]

    The person who designed http://www.msn.com , It’s using CSS now! and It almost validates xhtml

    I agree with Schultzy: why not interview one of the less famous out there? We already read the interviews with the “gurus”. A tip to start: gordonmac. He’s an extremely talented guy :-)

    Hahaha, well I could tell you all about the principles of the Social Work Scotland Act if that would be any use :p

    Commenting on flowers design: Beautifully done, and although I’m not sure why, I like the Fireworks-esque vector handles incorporated into it…

  25. Tim

    Phil Gyford – he’s one of the guys behind Jamie’s Dinners.

    Otherwise you’ll just have to interview me ;)

    Just make sure some of the questions dig up some dirt! I love informative interviews, but a little scandal never hurt anyone.
